The Book High

I've always said I'll read anything, and I really do mean that. Lately M/M romance has had my interest, but fantasy and sci-fi were my first loves and will always hold a special place in my heart. I also love histories and biographies.

Currently reading

The Mists of Avalon
Marion Zimmer Bradley
Shakespeare After All
Marjorie Garber
The Candidates - Bette Browne This was very fun to read. Wonderfully well-written, I had to remind myself at one point that this was part of LHNB and therefore free. I've paid for stories that aren't as well-written as this one.

Yes, there were things that could have been better. Reece did go from antagonistic to enamored fairly quickly, but I'm not sure it could have been different in a story of this length.

The things that were done well were done very well. The rivalry was believable, from the first moment Reece sees Cameron outside that office, it was very clear that Reece had felt both the competitive rivalry and also an unwanted attraction to him.

Their chemistry was also very well done. Reece's tentativeness in the pool was lovely, and their reluctance to part that night was beautiful.

And I loved how carefully Cameron worded his answers to Reece. I suspected from their conversation on the side of the road that Reece didn't have a full understanding of the situation, that Cameron wasn't telling him something, and I made several guesses... none of which turned out to be correct. Which I loved!

Very enjoyable story.
