I hesitated for a long time before I finally broke down and bought this book. And then I hesitated even more before actually reading it. First of all, I don't like big, hairy men in my M/M, so the "Bear" in the title put me off. Also, I don't often like men with kids in my M/M either, so there I was, put off again. I finally broke down when this book was voted second only to Hot Head as best overall book of 2011. And I'm so glad I did!
First of all "Bear" couldn't be less bear-like. Second, how could anyone not just fall completely in love with the smartest 9-year-old on the planet?
Very few books have had me crying and laughing and unable to do anything but KEEP READING until I get to the end and make sure everyone will be okay before I can put the book down and rejoin reality. And I love it when that happens. This was an amazing book, and I look forward to re-reading it again (some weekend when I have a full stock of tissues and enough snacks handy to see me through).
