I was ecstatic to find out that Ms. Dare had written a sequel to Duck!, since that's one of my favorite m/m fairy-tale books. This one was still enjoyable, but I was bothered this time by all of the unanswered questions in a way I wasn't in the first book.
In the first book, Ori and Raynard are in their own world most of the time, so questions like where all the female shifters are, why all of these men decide to live together like that, and how their society functions within the human world didn't really bother me. But in this one, Everet and Kane are living in the "nest" and so those questions kept coming up in my mind and not getting answered.
Apart from that and a few other niggles, I totally adored this book. I really appreciated Kane's character and how much he grew as a person once he started believing that Everet honestly cared about him. I also liked Everet and his desire to do the right thing--the best thing for Kane--no matter how difficult it might be for both of them.
Plus, the avian shifter idea is still fresh enough to be so much fun to read about.
