I was actually surprised by how much I enjoyed this story. It's another of those rare gems I've found in my "ooh, that sounds fun" impulse buying--most of which turn out to not be very good.
It may have to do with how much I adore the friends-to-lovers trope, which was what I was looking forward to most. I got a little disappointed when within the first few pages the friends are already kissing. I felt a little robbed of the delicious falling-for-the-best-friend angst that I'd been promised.
The way things turned around, however, delighted me. I loved getting to watch the balance of power shift back and forth as the two both revealed and hid and shared and discovered things about themselves and each other.
This will likely make my guilty pleasures shelf, I enjoyed it so much.
