The Book High

I've always said I'll read anything, and I really do mean that. Lately M/M romance has had my interest, but fantasy and sci-fi were my first loves and will always hold a special place in my heart. I also love histories and biographies.

Currently reading

The Mists of Avalon
Marion Zimmer Bradley
Shakespeare After All
Marjorie Garber
Prisoner 374215 - Angel Martinez Wow. This story is incredible. I can't recall ever reading anything like it, and I can't think of a higher compliment.

This was one story I was nervous about, because I'm fairly easily traumatized, and so tend to shy away from dark stories. Some of the other reviews convinced to me give this a shot, and I'm so glad I did. Dark, yes, but not in a potentially traumatizing way. Dark enough to make the brightness of the hope in its message even brighter.

And the originality of the whole structure of the story. Mind blowing. In the best and most beautiful way possible. I don't want to potentially give anything away, so I'll contain myself to simple gushing rather than actually discussing the story. It was fantastic. My new favorite of LHNB so far. And one of my new favorite sci-fi stories.

Favorite Quotes:
"But hope never dies in a living human. Sometimes the soul goes through a nuclear winter, and hope has to go dormant. It's there, though. Waiting for the right moment to sprout."

"I'm here by the door. I've opened it. All you have to do is take my hand."
