This was sweet. Pitney as the tall, gawky human and Tate/Tristan as his "runty" werewolf mate were cute and original. I did like the fun, fresh twists on shifter lore here: that Tate turning into the half-man-half-wolf creature is a genetic anomaly that he's ostracized for, and the potentially-resistible imprinting.
It was interesting to meet Tate's pack, and the whole way all of that was handled was unique and original, which I know is getting harder and harder to achieve in shifter stories. My complaint about this part of the story, however, is that it didn't really seem to fit as well with the rest of the story. It didn't feel like it advanced the plot significantly, or shed that much light on the relationship. The story probably would have been stronger without it.
Still fun, though.
